  1. Jr. Grapplers
The Junior Grapplers’ program teaches your child the “FUNdamentals” of the Gracie Personal Protection Curriculum including how to recognize, avoid, and escape danger. As well as introducing the key benefits of three of the six major skill-related fitness components (agility, balance, and coordination), our Royce Gracie black belt and certified teacher will help develop your child’s concentration, control, and confidence. Your child will have fun learning the basics of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, including stand-up techniques (how to block, punch & kick), take-downs (clinches) and ground grappling (wrestling) games and drills. The Junior Grapplers’ program utilizes the “FUNdamentals” stage of the Long-Term Athlete Development model (LTAD) - developing your child’s physical literacy and preparing them for the Grapplers’ class by familiarizing them with many of the principles in the “Learning to Train” stage.
  2. What is Gracie Jiu-Jitsu?
Also known as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, it originated from Japanese Jiu-Jitsu, but was refined and perfected by the Gracie family of Brazil. Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is similar to Judo and focuses on ground grappling and wrestling moves including submissions, but Gracie Jiu-Jitsu also utilizes over 100 personal protection techniques making it the most complete and effective personal protection martial art the world has ever known. Today, Gracie Jiu-Jitsu is the official hand-to-hand combat system of the United States Military and law enforcement agencies throughout the world (graciemiami.com). Gracie Dojo™ provides a direct lineage to Grandmaster Helio Gracie’s original and refined Gracie Jiu-Jitsu.
